Optimal Air Testing Services Inc. is a small business owned and operated out of Casper, Wyoming. Optimal Air Testing has been provides high quality single source emission testing services to government, commercial, and industrial clients from Arizona to Pennsylvania and everywhere in between. Led by president and founder, Daniel Klassen, who has over 25 years of experience in the source emissions testing world, we aim to provide superior service at the lowest possible cost to our clientele. Our professional team can be mobilized to start testing within the week of receiving an accurate description of scope of work.

Position: Environmental Technician, Hourly Rate: $20-$30 per hour. DOE.

SYNOPSIS:

This position will initially assist Project Managers and other Technicians in preparing for and executing air testing projects. Technicians will work in industrial facilities throughout the region, often outdoors and at elevated heights. Full-time and Part-time positions available, but both require “significant” overnight travel. Will train the candidates with positive attitudes.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

· Assist in preparation of testing equipment and work on a team to complete field-testing projects.

· Assist with shop functions (equipment and vehicle maintenance).

· Independently and effectively assemble, operate, and trouble-shoot source testing equipment.

· Ensure project preparation is complete before going into the field (includes glassware preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, calibration, etc.).

· Follow safety and testing procedures.

· Provide excellent customer service to all clients.

· Complete and submit paperwork (field data, forms, timesheets) accurately and in a timely matter.

· Ensure company policies, standards, and procedures are adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum, High School Diploma, preference to candidates with additional education (preferably in science, math or environmental field).

· Willing and able to travel overnight (estimate 70 to 110 nights away from home annually, but rarely do projects extend over a weekend).

· Good physical condition (must be able to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting materials up to 50 pounds, and climb ladders up to 150ft). Satisfactory pre-employment physical exam required.

· Ability to work in industrial settings, outdoors, and at elevated heights on OSHA and MSHA compliant platforms.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.

· Comfortable with computers (MS Office - Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

· Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical certification.

· Must submit to and pass pre-employment, scheduled, and random drug screenings.

· Must submit to and have clean criminal background investigation.

PREFERENCES:

· Mechanical (hands-on) experience with familiarity of basic hand tools

· Field service experience

· Computer skills, experience with environmental gas analyzers and/or FTIR

· Basic chemistry and math skills

· Good organizational skills

· Experience working with customers/clients

· Experience in industrial environment

· Located near the Casper office
