Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, farming, and equipment maintenance. This role involves overseeing the care of animals, maintaining farm machinery, and ensuring the overall health of the agricultural environment. The Caretaker will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations and contributing to the success of our agricultural practices.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage daily activities related to animal care and farm maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain various types of farm machinery and equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Provide care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring health conditions.
  • Assist with planting, growing, and harvesting crops as needed.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment for various tasks on the farm.
  • Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper water supply for crops.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including greenhouses and barns.
  • Conduct basic math calculations for inventory management and resource allocation.

Skills

  • Supervising experience in an agricultural or farming setting is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance is essential.
  • Strong understanding of animal husbandry practices and animal handling techniques.
  • Experience operating forklifts and heavy machinery safely.
  • Familiarity with farming practices, horticulture, and greenhouse management.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
  • Basic math skills for effective resource management in farming operations.
