Equine Handler

We are currently looking for an experienced horse handler in our busy yard.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend to daily stable management duties, including mucking out, feeding, watering etc

Be responsible for ensuring orders are made for supplies ie: feed bedding etc

Maintain the yard to a high standard.

Rotate horses to ensure all horses get adequate time outside

Promptly report to your line manager any issues arise

Be well organized and manage a high volume of horses in a safe and organized manor.

Follow management instruction on the protocells for stable management and cleanliness.

Lease with vet and be on hand to assist with daily visits to the yard.

Have a knowledge of horse health and be able to spot and sort out any issues in a quick and professional manor.

Maintain records of inward horses and relay all paperwork to office staff.

Report any yard issues to management and be willing to fix any issues

Ensure security of buildings and yard

Ensure adequate reports are kept as requested.

Have a full clean driving licence as transporting horses will be a necessity.

Be willing to attend night time call outs for our emergency service for horses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €30,000.00 per year
