Targeted start date: Immediately. Relocation provided.

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.

We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.

As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced ERP/MRP BOM Manager to lead Bill of Materials (BOM) management, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. This role is critical for ensuring ERP/MRP data accuracy, seamless product transitions, and effective change control processes (CCB - Change Control Board).

The ERP/MRP BOM Manager will be responsible for overseeing all BOM structuring, product lifecycle management, and ERP/MRP system accuracy, ensuring alignment between procurement, manufacturing, and engineering. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in engineering change management, cross-functional collaboration, and ERP/MRP system administration.

Key Responsibilities:

BOM Management & ERP/MRP System Oversight

  • Own and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy within the ERP/MRP system, ensuring alignment with engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain BOM hierarchy, revision control, and part numbering structures to optimize data integrity.
  • Ensure BOM structuring supports prototype, pilot, and mass production phases while maintaining traceability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to implement BOM updates based on design changes, supplier constraints, and production needs.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure BOM accuracy and manufacturing structure is correct.

Engineering Change Management & CCB Leadership

  • Lead the Change Control Board (CCB), driving review, approval, and implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Ensure all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Deviations are evaluated for cost, manufacturability, and supply chain impact before implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline ECO workflows, reducing bottlenecks and ensuring seamless product updates.
  • Develop and implement best practices for engineering change documentation, approval cycles, and impact assessments.
  • Communicate change status updates to relevant teams, ensuring smooth transitions in procurement and manufacturing.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Product Lifecycle Management

  • Work closely with engineering and supply chain teams to support NPI activities, ensuring seamless BOM setup and production integration.
  • Manage the phase-in/phase-out process for new and obsolete components, preventing supply chain disruptions.
  • Ensure early-stage BOM validation, confirming alignment with procurement and manufacturing constraints.
  • Track and monitor NPI build progress, ensuring material readiness for prototype and pilot runs.
  • Lead efforts to ensure engineering documentation and BOMs are production-ready, supporting a smooth ramp-up to full-scale manufacturing.

Process Optimization & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain best practices for BOM management, change control, and product lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and traceability requirements.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to streamline BOM structuring, change management, and ERP/MRP workflows.
  • Train cross-functional teams on best practices for BOM structuring, ECO execution, and ERP/MRP system usage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in BOM management, ERP/MRP systems, and engineering change control within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Strong expertise in Engineering Change Management (ECO/ECR) and NPI processes.
  • Experience leading Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and cross-functional change implementation.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Odoo, Oracle, Arena, Agile PLM, or similar).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials management, and procurement planning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for data accuracy and workflow optimization.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
