Esl Teacher & International Student Officer - The Learning Abroad Co.

This is a full-time role as part of the Global Learning Programs Team. There are 2 elements to this role. As an ESL Teacher you will teach closed groups of international students throughout the year.. Outside of this when teaching is not required you will work with the Global Learning Programs Team as an International Student Officer.
The role is based at our headquarters in Cork City in Ireland with some travel to Dublin, Waterford and other locations for work. Please note that due to the nature of the work, remote working is not available for this role.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ESL Teaching
- Preparing creative and innovative lesson plans and content-rich programming for closed groups of international students
- Creating class schedules and program plans including cultural activities and excursions to complement the in-class language learning experience
- Assessing level of English language proficiency
- Delivering engaging classes to closed groups of international students
- As our aim is always to create a unique experience for our students you will involve them, engage them and solicit their feedback in classes
- Monitoring examinations and issuing certification
International Programs Team
- Processing incoming group bookings such as preparing paperwork, planning orientation sessions, organising transport cards, welcome packs and other logistical aspects of advance planning for our International Programs
- Welcoming the groups on arrival into Ireland – providing an enthusiastic and friendly welcome, presenting a detailed orientation session, walking tour of the city centre and answering any questions the new arrivals have
- Ensure excellent communication, regular feedback and quick resolution of any issues throughout the students stay
- Acting as a liaison point for students during their stay
- Reviewing CVs and assisting with student interviews for internship placements
- Working with host families – visiting them, carrying out the online vetting process, updating the database and making bookings
- Updating the host company database in a clear, concise and organized manner
- Creating content for social media – taking photographs & videos with our students to use on our social media pages
- Accompanying students on organised cultural activities, excursions and academic visits
Important Information
- This role is based primarily in Cork City, Ireland with some travel to other locations in Ireland for work purposes
- This is a full-time role, 5 days per week across Mon-Sun
- Remote working is not available for this role although some WFH days can be agreed upon from time to time
- This role is open to Fully Qualifed ESL teachers with some prior teacher experience only
- Salary range €24,000 - €28,000 dependent upon level of experience
