About the Role

BrightCore Construction is seeking a full-time, in-office Estimator Assistant to support our estimating and tendering operations for public and private construction projects.

This is not a project coordinator role. The primary focus is tender preparation, estimating support, and subcontractor pricing coordination.

We are looking for someone with hands-on exposure to general contracting and public tenders who understands construction terminology, divisions, insurance requirements, bonding, and bid submission processes.

Project coordination and close-out tracking form part of the role, but estimating and tendering are the core responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Tender Support (Primary Focus) includes but not limited to:

  • Navigate and review tender documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid forms
  • Understand construction divisions and scope breakdown
  • Prepare and issue invitations to bid to trade partners and suppliers
  • Follow up with trade partners for pricing, scope clarity, and compliance
  • Log, analyze, and organize incoming subcontractor quotes
  • Coordinate insurance and bond requirements
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of a complete tender package
  • Maintain tender trackers and deadlines

Experience with public-sector bidding platforms and estimating software is considered an asset.

Coordination & Documentation (Secondary Focus) includes but not limited to:

  • Track submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
  • Maintain bid and project tracking systems
  • Assist with close-out documentation, including warranties, O&M manuals, and as-builts
  • Support site visits during tender and project phases as required

Ideal Candidate

  • 1–3 years' experience with a general contractor
  • Exposure to public tenders and estimating processes
  • Familiar with construction divisions and trade scopes
  • Comfortable reviewing drawings and specifications
  • Highly organized with strong follow-up skills
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and PlanSwift
  • Able to work in-office and collaborate directly with estimating team

Important: Candidates whose experience is primarily project coordination without tendering and estimating exposure may not be suitable for this role.

Compensation & Growth

  • Full-time in-office position
  • Salary: $45,000–$55,000 based on experience
  • Health benefits
  • Strong growth opportunity into the Estimator role
