The Opportunity:
Avantor is currently looking for someone with a Life Sciences or Legal (Bachelor/Professional Bachelor) to join our team as a Regulatory Affairs Officer on a fixed term contract until February 2025. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to have a broad first experience within Regulatory Affairs within the Life Sciences field. Avantor has a product portfolio of over 6 Million different products, this role will therefor give you great exposure to Chemicals, Laboratory Equipment and more.
This role will be a full-time position, based from our Leuven Office. A good work-life balance is guaranteed by our flexible working hours and the possibility to work 2 days per week from home. The team
The Benelux & France Regulatory team comprises 3 Regulatory Affairs Officers reporting to the RA Supervisor. This team is part of the broader European RA group.
What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor in Chemistry or Law (‘Rechtspraktijk’)
- Experience: Not required, you will receive on the job training
- Languages: fluent in Dutch and English
- You are eager to learn and able to multitask.
- You are not afraid to ask questions but can still work independently.
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Analyze EMEA APAC regulatory requirements and interpret regulatory acts, including changes, and ensure that they are communicated through the organization.
- Draft and define, in cooperation with stakeholders, instructions with appropriate conformity actions for business.
- Participate in/lead product compliance related EMEA APAC projects.
- Local Legal requirements/Legislation follow-up and update of Central team.
- Ensure that local organization is compliant with legal requirements/legislation and support central projects with local implementations.
- Contact with Belgian authorities (participating on inspections, declarations & reporting, license requests).
- Investigate queries with local authorities.
- Suspect customers/transactions to raise to Central team & authorities.
- Provides Regulatory support to the local Business and Operations .
- Accountable for obtaining, maintaining and renewal of local licenses to operate.
- Provide customer guidance, monitor customer licenses and regulatory blocks.
- Act/report proactively when recognizing significant business risks
- Interact with local Departments (QA, Sales, Customer Services, Logistics,…) and with Central Departments (Central Regulatory, QA, Global Data Compliance, Sourcing, Product Management, Sales, …) as well as with customers and local authorities.
