Event Captain (Cupe-59)

TCU Place is looking for a professional and approachable Event Captain to fill a casual, call-in role. Under the supervision of the Guest Services Manager, this position ensures the success of all TCU events by implementing specific event details and directing staff. This position is responsible for all components of an event, including room set-up, food and beverage services and room tear-down.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates and communicates specific client needs to appropriate departments, with the purpose of executing a high standard of front-line service and presentation quality for all TCU Place events.
• Communicates with the client, throughout the event, to ensure that all needs are met.
• Ensures that the room set-up is complete, prior to the event, according to detail sheets, in a timely manner. Communicates with the staff to ensure room set-up is complete and requested changes are made. Provides complete details briefings to Guest Services Attendants before each event.
• Provides guidance and direction, on behalf of the client, to designated department leads for successful event execution.
• Completes event reports in the event tracking system and for the event file.
• Follows proper cash distribution and control procedures. Assists in coordinating and monitoring all loss prevention controls within the department.
• Performs related duties for Corporate Suites.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 education.
• Two years' experience in the hospitality, catering or food service industry, including one year's experience in event planning or event coordinating.
• Acceptable current criminal record check search upon offer of employment.
