Job Summary

The Events Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of internal and external events in Huron County at Cowbell Brewing Co. This individual must be a skilled event manager who is capable of planning dynamic and engaging events that will drive new business and strengthen our organization’s unique culture. Meticulous organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure and to accommodate any last-minute changes with minimal disruption are imperative.

Roles and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Events Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and execute internal events (private and venue operated) and external brand-building events.
  • Ensure that guests are exceptionally satisfied with events.
  • Keep event plans on budget and on schedule.
  • Drive new business to the brewery with compelling and creative events.
  • Train and oversee all event team staff working events.
  • Manage and plan for the intake of all private event bookings.
  • Market and advertise the brewery and brand products by facilitating participation in key community events.
  • Reach out to potential event sponsors and vendors. Communication and negotiate partnership opportunities.
  • Partner with marketing to advertise events through multiple channels (social media, online, print).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience planning and executing events and creative experiences in a high-traffic environment.
  • Strong organization and management skills, with a self-starter’s attitude.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects with many moving parts.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in and passion for the hospitality and experience industry along with strong knowledge of food & beverage.
  • Valid Smart Serve certification.
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of POS systems and the ability to quickly learn new software as needed (Cowbell uses Touchbistro, 7Shifts and Chase).
  • Comfortable using MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Working Conditions

  • Position may require long periods of standing and walking.
  • Work normal business hours of the restaurant, which include weekends and evenings, but may be required to do some work outside normal working hours.
  • Required to work in a busy, open area which may result in constant interruptions.
  • Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
