Wellington Free Ambulance is the only paramedic service in the region—and the only one in the country that is free. We are proud to be an iconic part of this community, dedicated to taking healthcare to patients where they need it most.
Our Event Medical Services team plays a vital role in supporting community events, from international sporting matches and live concerts to local fairs and emergency support for our frontline crews.
About the Role
As a full-time Coordinator, you will be based in our Thorndon office and you’ll be at the heart of the logistics, ensuring the right people and resources are in place to meet event and patient needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Event Coordination: Scheduling and resourcing events, preparing run-sheets, and organising vehicles, equipment, and medical personnel.
Administrative Support: Diary management, documentation, minute-taking, and record maintenance.
Logistics & Planning: Coordinating meeting rooms, vehicles, and equipment, while managing costs.
Customer Service: Liaising with customers and internal teams, such as Clinical Education, to support recruitment and induction of volunteer event medics.
Recruitment Support: Assisting with volunteer recruitment drives for event medics.
Skills and Experiences:
What You will Need
Previous administrative experience (healthcare experience is a bonus)
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills
Exceptional communication and customer service abilities
Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Full, clean driver’s license (held for at least 2 years)
A calm, adaptable approach under pressure
