Event Manager / Lead Event Staff (One-Day Event | 6-Hour Shift)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and confident Event Manager / Lead Event Staff member to oversee on-site operations for a live event in Adelaide. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to stay calm and decisive during peak attendance periods.

You will act as the main point of coordination on the ground, ensuring smooth guest flow, excellent customer experience, and effective communication between staff and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site event operations during the 6-hour shift.
  • Manage guest flow, queues, and general crowd movement.
  • Coordinate with event staff, vendors, and performers as needed.
  • Lead by example with strong leadership and decision-making.
  • Handle peak attendance periods calmly and efficiently.
  • Resolve guest complaints or issues professionally and discreetly.
  • Maintain high standards of customer relationship management throughout the event.
  • Ensure the event runs according to schedule and plan.
  • Communicate any issues promptly and clearly to the event organizers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in event management, hospitality supervision, or lead event staff roles.
  • Strong leadership presence and excellent emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to handle pressure and make sound decisions during busy moments.
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and punctual.
  • Comfortable being the main on-site point of contact.
  • Must be based in or able to work in Adelaide, SA.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Australia.
