Job Title: Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator - Civil Infrastructure and Pipelaying

Location: Courtenay, BC

Job Type: Full-time

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with expertise in civil infrastructure and pipelaying to join our team in Courtenay, BC. With multiple projects scheduled full time through 2025-2026, we are looking for long term employees who can build a career with our company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating heavy equipment in the construction of water and sewer lines, storm drainage systems and roadworks.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers
• Perform pre- and post-operation checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient use
• Perform general maintenance on equipment as required
• Work with the construction team to complete civil infrastructure and pipelaying projects on time and within budget
• Adhere to all safety regulations and policies
• Work out of town as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil infrastructure and pipelaying projects
• Knowledge of excavation and earthwork principles and techniques
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work flexible hours as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $33.02-$41.03 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
