Why Lead at Visit Cranbrook?
Step into a leadership role at the heart of one of British Columbia’s most dynamic and fastest-growing destinations. Visit Cranbrook is not just a destination marketing organization—it’s the driving force behind a city experiencing a remarkable renaissance in tourism, investment, and community vibrancy.
A City on the Rise
Cranbrook’s growth is undeniable. The city’s population has surged to nearly 23,000 in 2025, with a consistent annual growth rate outpacing many comparable communities in the province. Over the past five years, Cranbrook has issued more than $300 million in building permits and added nearly 900 new homes, reflecting a proactive approach to meeting demand and supporting newcomers.
This momentum is matched by a thriving tourism sector, with visitor numbers and overnight stays climbing year over year, and a robust pipeline of new businesses and investments attracted by the city’s strategic use of data and forward-thinking economic development strategies.
The Basecamp of the Kootenays
Cranbrook is the largest urban centre in southeastern BC and the economic, cultural, and transportation hub of the East Kootenay region. With over 300 days of sunshine annually—the most in British Columbia—Cranbrook offers an unparalleled quality of life and year-round
adventure. The city’s “seven minutes to anywhere” reputation means world-class golf, hiking, biking, and skiing are always within reach. The Canadian Rockies International Airport connects Cranbrook to major markets, while a vibrant downtown, thriving arts scene, and celebrated culinary offerings make it a magnet for both visitors and new residents.
Award-Winning Tourism & Inclusive Community
Visit Cranbrook has recently rebranded to reflect its authentic, story-driven identity, earning accolades for its innovative approach to destination marketing and community engagement. The organization is Rainbow Registered, recognized for its commitment to inclusivity and a welcoming
environment for all.
Your Opportunity
As Executive Director, you’ll lead a passionate team and a collaborative network of partners, leveraging cutting-edge data tools and a bold strategic vision to shape the next era of Cranbrook’s growth. You’ll have the platform to drive sustainable tourism, foster economic development, and leave a legacy in a city where innovation, adventure, and community spirit converge.
