Background
Our Advisory unit (responsible for the PPP Advisory and Infrastructure, Asset and Facilities Management Consulting verticals) brings extensive experience in facilities and asset management across new developments and existing infrastructure projects. Our broad service offerings include:
Strategic contracting and procurement for FM and asset management services, encompassing contract specification design, evaluation criteria, performance frameworks, and payment mechanism modelling.
Development of asset management strategies, frameworks and operational plans.
Lifecycle cost analysis and financial modelling.
Benchmarking FM and asset performance and maturity assessments / performance audits.
Reviews of facilities management and asset maintenance service delivery.
Technical advisory services for social infrastructure PPPs such as schools, hospitals, and housing.
Comprehensive due diligence reporting.
We've partnered with government agencies and private organisations across a variety of property types and asset classes including education, health, aged care, justice, housing, events, civic (local government), defence, aviation, transport, and sport and recreation.
We're looking for a forward-thinking, seasoned Executive Advisor to join our established Brisbane team. This role is key to delivering high-value asset advisory services and helping drive MBM’s continued growth and impact.
Responsibilities & Duties
The ideal candidate will work closely with Directors and Associates to achieve key project outcomes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Asset & Facilities Management Advisory
Evaluate and report on asset and facilities management delivery models, identifying key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks.
Benchmark FM and asset management practices against industry standards (e.g. ISO 55000, ISO 41000).
Review lifecycle and whole-of-life cost models.
Deliver due diligence reports for asset and FM services within PPP frameworks.
Advise on building maintenance strategies, including reactive and preventative maintenance, minor capital works, and lifecycle replacement programs.
2. Procurement Support
Guide clients through transitions into and out of FM/AM delivery models and service provider arrangements.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to prepare comprehensive procurement and contracting documentation (e.g. service specifications, KPIs).
Lead and facilitate stakeholder workshops and presentations.
Produce structured reports aligned to MBM standards, including:
Feasibility analyses
Peer review assessments including PSC and HVHR reporting
Service delivery evaluations
Business case development
Procurement scopes and bid reviews
Performance management frameworks
3. Contract Administration
Deliver evaluation reports for operational planning documents, including:
Mobilisation and readiness plans
Asset management strategies
Contract delivery frameworks
Monitoring and performance review systems
Soft services management plans
Prepare reports that assess FM and asset systems in terms of performance, risk, and improvement opportunities.
Advise clients on all aspects of FM/AM contract administration, from transition and performance review through to audit processes and contract amendments.

Qualities & Skills
At executive professional level you should be an established team leader able to demonstrate strong technical skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements profitability. You should have the ability to coach and mentor junior staff, delegate effectively and provide high levels of confidence to clients and MBM management. You should have a growing professional network and an emerging business development capability with the ability to win new and repeat work. You should be able to win and/or manage revenues of more than $500,000 per annum.
The successful candidate will have:
Capabilities in and exposure to business processes, organisation development and structures and the delivery of asset management and FM services either in the public or private sector.
Experience of implementation or working with recognised appropriate international standards such as ISO55000 or ISO41000.
A tertiary qualification across Business, Building, Property, Asset Management or Facilities Management.
Accreditation to an industry body (FMA, IFMA, TEFMA, PCA, PFA, UDIA, AMC, IAM, IPWEA, RICS or AIQS)
Strong written and verbal communication capabilities and analytical skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, and Project).
Desirable skills and experience considered to be of benefit include:
A minimum of 15 years commercial experience across the asset management, property and facilities management sector.
Experience in designing and developing specifications, KPI’s and payment mechanisms, undertaking evaluations and contract negotiations.
Experience with FM or asset management systems and with PPP transactions.
Experience working in asset management or facilities management across social infrastructure sectors such as Health, Education, Corrections, or Social Housing (or other).
The ability to work autonomously to deliver project outcomes to time and budget constraints.
Desirable Qualities:
A proactive approach with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills, being well-spoken and presentable.
Ability to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
Comfortable working under pressure and capable of meeting deadlines.
