Centrica Energy is looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our Renewable Energy Trading and Optimisation team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a high-impact role supporting senior leaders in one of the most fast-paced and strategically important areas of our business. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling leadership success through expert coordination, stakeholder engagement, and high-level administrative support.
About the Role
The Executive Assistant will provide dedicated support to senior leaders, ensuring their time and priorities are managed effectively. The role involves coordinating complex calendars, preparing executive communications, and supporting stakeholder engagement across multiple geographies and functions. The position also includes tracking actions and deadlines, supporting internal communications, and assisting with the planning and execution of leadership events and team initiatives.
Strategic calendar and priority management across time zones
Preparation of executive-level presentations, briefings, and communications
Coordination of leadership meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups
Stakeholder engagement and liaison across internal and external networks
Tracking actions and deadlines across multiple workstreams
Supporting internal communications and team updates
Assisting with planning and coordination of leadership events and team initiatives
About You
The ideal candidate is a proactive, confident and highly organised professional with extensive experience supporting senior executives in global organisations of high complexity. They demonstrate sound judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently. Experience in the energy sector—particularly trading or renewables—is highly desirable but not required.
Proven Executive Assistant experience in a complex, international company
Strong stakeholder management and coordination capabilities
Experience supporting senior leaders in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint)
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting executive-level materials
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and track progress across diverse initiatives
Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
