Executive Assistant - Tauranga

An opportunity to work for an organisation that provides independent assurance to Parliament

Roles like this one don't come around often at Audit New Zealand. If you're an experienced personal or executive assistant, then we're interested in hearing from you!

At Audit New Zealand, we're dedicated to making a difference to the lives of New Zealanders by helping to continuously improve the public's trust in public services and the value those services deliver. In this role, you'll support Audit Directors and Audit Managers through a variety of activities, including diary management, meeting management, portfolio management assistance, and travel management.

What makes this role different is that you'll also be responsible for finalising the presentation of our client documents - so proficiency in document formatting is essential. You'll also need to have high integrity and the attention to detail needed to produce high-quality documents.

We're looking for a proactive self-starter who can work as part of a team and has the competence to think on their feet, showing initiative and sound judgement.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • strong self-management and organisational skills;
  • excellent Microsoft Word knowledge and well-developed formatting skills, with the ability to achieve an executive standard when finalising correspondence drafted by others;
  • flexibility and adaptability to prioritise and handle multiple pieces of work simultaneously, with a results-focused approach to ensure that deadlines are met;
  • strong communication skills and the ability to easily build solid professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; and
  • the ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.

As an organisation, people matter to us, our independence is critical, we act with integrity and courage, and we're here to make a difference.

This is a full-time position, but we'll also consider applications from those who wish to work reduced hours (between 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday). Please include your preferred hours in your cover letter.

We offer our staff:

  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements (hours/days).
  • Health and well-being benefits.

We have a diverse and inclusive team that helps us to understand the issues facing the public sector and how these affect the lives of New Zealanders. We strongly welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to tell us when you apply so that we can assist you through the recruitment process.

For more information, please contact Sandy Hoggarth at recruitment@oag.parliament.nz.

You must apply online through jobs.govt.nz (you'll find the application form and position description there, too). Please include a cover letter and CV with your application.

Applications close Monday 24 February, 2025.
