An exceptional leadership opportunity exists for an Executive Manager, Therapeutic Services to lead a diverse portfolio of clinical and therapeutic programs across CatholicCare.
As a key member of the Executive Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, client-centred service delivery, strong financial performance, and compliance across multiple funding streams. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Executive Manager, Therapeutic Services oversees a portfolio of Therapeutic Services Programs including The Rosewood Centre, Zimmerman Services Healing & Support, Youth Engagement Services (Targeted Earlier Intervention and Catholic Schools Within and Beyond The Gates) and GambleAware
Hunter New England.
This role is responsible for the oversight, operational management and strategic direction of multi-disciplinary teams across the programs including Administrators, Registered Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists, Mental Health Accredited Social Workers, Social Workers and Behaviour Support (NDIS and PSP) Clinicians. This role involves strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and influence individuals to drive operational objectives and KPIs, ensure financial viability and adherence to budget and sound business acumen to grow both the CatholicCare and Rosewood Centre brands across the diocese in accordance with the strategic plan.
The role will be required to actively engage in organisational strategic development through effective networking and community partnerships and will work closely with and be supported by several Team Leaders and Managers to ensure practice and casework across the programs is sound and delivered in line with legislation, meets APRHA standards (where applicable), contractual obligations (where applicable) and in accordance with budget. This position is a member of the CatholicCare Executive Team.
The incumbent commits to always working within Work Health and Safety guidelines and Code of Conduct whilst in the employ of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Skills and Experiences:
EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
- Extensive experience managing therapeutic and psychology service programs across multiple sites.
- Proven ability to oversee diverse funding streams, meeting all KPIs, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, and contributing to business planning.
- Highly skilled in building effective partnerships with government agencies, community organisations, funders, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding and developing clinical teams, managing conflict, and supporting organisational change in line with policy.
- Ability to provide strategic direction using a collaborative, strengths-based leadership approach to drive service quality and sustainable growth.
- Experience leading projects, initiatives, and research, and navigating accreditation and audit processes (e.g., NDIS).
- Strong networking and relationship building skills with referrers, community partners, senior leaders, and internal teams to achieve KPIs and strengthen service delivery.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Willing and able to work flexibly as required
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field or extensive demonstrated experience managing a therapeutic service
- Current Driver’s License

- Criminal Record Check
- NDIS Worker Screen ID
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
- Tertiary Qualification in Business, Psychology and/or Social Work (Desirable)
- If qualified as a psychologist or social worker, must hold and maintain current registration with the relevant professional association (i.e AHPRA or AASW) (Desirable)
