We’re Hiring an Experienced Excavator Operator

Harbour Construction is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator with strong experience in mainline underground utility installation.

This role is best suited for an operator with 5+ years of civil construction experience who understands trench safety, grade control, and working closely with pipe crews in storm, sewer, and water main projects.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone confident, precise, and safety-focused.

What You’ll Do

• Operate excavators to support storm, sewer, and water main installation
• Excavate trenches in varying soil and deep trench conditions
• Maintain grade and alignment in coordination with survey and pipe crew
• Work safely around live utilities and underground infrastructure
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and report maintenance needs
• Support backfilling and general site operations as required

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of excavator operating experience in civil construction
• Proven experience with underground mainline pipe installation
• Experience working in deep trench environments
• Strong understanding of trench safety and job site awareness
• Ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated crew
• Valid driver’s license required

Municipal infrastructure experience is considered an asset. Must be located in Nova Scotia with the ability to start work within 1-2 weeks.
