About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Export Sales Manager will provide strategic leadership across export sales and overseas business operations to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and market expansion.

You will lead export activities across multiple international markets, manage key customer relationships, oversee export compliance and documentation processes, and contribute to the broader strategic direction of the business.

This role is based at our Ormeau office and works closely with internal stakeholders, overseas offices, freight forwarders, regulatory authorities, and key international customers.

The role carries responsibility for commercial performance, export operational excellence, market diversification, and customer growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Develop and implement export sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Manage and grow existing international customer accounts
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across export markets
Negotiate customer contracts, pricing, and trading agreements
Monitor market trends, customer performance, and margin outcomes
Drive achievement of annual sales, revenue, and budget targets
Support strategic market diversification and international expansion initiatives

Export Operations & Compliance

Oversee export processes to ensure compliance with local and international regulations
Ensure compliance with DAFF, AUS-MEAT, HACCP, Halal, export accreditation, and importing country regulatory requirements
Manage export documentation, shipping schedules, invoicing, insurance, and reporting
Liaise with freight forwarders, overseas offices, and regulatory authorities
Ensure export systems and procedures meet operational, statutory, and customer requirements
Support supply chain continuity and export operational efficiency

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management across the export function
Build strong internal and external business partnerships
Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, distribution and finance
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus

Financial & Strategic Management

Manage export budgets, margin performance, and financial outcomes
Monitor currency exposure, insurance processes, and debtor management relating to export activities
Prepare sales, performance, and operational reports.
Contribute to strategic planning, risk management, and long-term international growth initiatives
Support business improvement, systems development, and operational efficiencies

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience in Export Sales, Foodservice, FMCG, or meat industry sales
Significant experience within the meat processing or protein export industry
Strong account management and business development capability
Demonstrated success in achieving sales growth and margin targets
Strong commercial negotiation and relationship management skills
Sound knowledge of export compliance, documentation, and international trade requirements
Experience managing export logistics and international customer relationships
Excellent organisational, analytical, and reporting abilities
A proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused approach
Strong computer systems and reporting skills
Tertiary qualifications in Business, International Trade, or a related discipline (preferred)
