Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range: $22.95 - $24.00

Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary

The Facilities Specialist position assigned to the Construction and Maintenance crew to provide maintenance services to buildings on the Capitol Complex.

This position works as a master craftsman or a specialist in multiple crafts or trades. Work requires highly specialized knowledge, experience and ability to independently perform and complete projects requiring a variety of crafts and trades including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal and painting. Plans, develops and coordinates large-scale projects and programs.

This position will handle building maintenance and deliver a great customer service experience.

The Facilities Specialist position is assigned the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct all aspects of a job performing multiple crafts or trades on construction or renovation projects from start to finish at the journeyman craftsman level. Reads, interprets and works from blueprints and specifications and provides estimates, equipment, material and costs needed to assure repair and changes can be completed with available funds and manpower. Works on special projects and renovation, such as HVAC, Electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, sheet metal, and painting. Responsible for skilled work in multiple crafts or ability to assist multiple crafts at a journeyman level.
  • Performs general maintenance at the skilled craft level including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and controls. Reset breakers in electrical panels, replace switches, outlets. Build needed structures using wood, metal, and concrete. Does painting in equipment rooms choosing the proper paint for the job as needed.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on buildings to include HVAC equipment, fire extinguishers, suppression systems, electrical panels, lights, doors, locksets, ADA operators, bathroom fixtures, inspects roofs on biannual basis, cleans exterior drains on roofs and building area ways biannually. Does monthly walkthrough of buildings, inspecting for deficiencies or areas needing repairs.
  • Completes TMA work orders and records labor hours and material costs associated with work. This information is compiled for budgeting purposes and must be accurate. Participates in a variety of special projects/tasks as designated by the supervisor. Promote and foster an attitude of teamwork and cooperation toward co-workers and agency customers. Performs other work as required to ensure client needs are met and satisfactory.

Qualifications:

Licensing & Certification: Valid driver’s license

Minimum Qualifications: Five years of experience in the mechanical or building trades. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
