The Facility & Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of both manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure. This role encompasses performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery, as well as overseeing the upkeep of the building's systems to support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of manufacturing machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues in production equipment.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
FACILITIY MAINTENANCE
Oversee the maintenance of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and fire safety equipment.
Perform general facility repairs ie carpentry, painting, and door hardware maintenance. Lawn mowing and trimming.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized facility services and monitor their performance.
Ensure the facility complies with all safety and environmental regulations.
GENERAL DUTIES
Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimize facility downtime.
Participate in safety audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
Stay updated with the latest industry practices and technologies relevant to facility and equipment maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent, technical certification or associate degree in a related field.
Minimum of two years experience in equipment and facility maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematic and manuals.
Strong troubleshooting skills and solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience with PLC'S desired but not required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Capability to work in various positions, standing, bending, and climbing.
Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
