Facility Operations Assistant 1 (Grounds)

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic and functional aspects of our facilities. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, ensuring that our outdoor spaces are well-kept and inviting. The Facilities Assistant will work both independently and as part of a team to support the overall upkeep of the property.

Duties

• Duties include but not limited to - ensure the overall cleanliness of the facility grounds, lawn, tree and shrub grooming; snow removal; litter and leaf pickup; break up concrete or asphalt; loading and unloading trucks; furniture moving; special projects.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor; ability to use a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment; ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Although the primary assignment is days the incumbent is expected to be available for overtime on holidays, weekends and evening and night shifts.
• Applicants must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
• Must demonstrate that they are able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
• Experience in the use and maintenance of a variety of hand and power tools and motorized equipment (including but not limited to shovels, lawnmowers, clippers and rakes, snow blowers, chain saws, salt spreaders and power mowers, and operation of riding mowers, trucks and tractors).
• Must demonstrate the ability to climb ladders and perform work at considerable heights.
• Since the activities of other employees depend upon the availability of the employee in this position, reliable attendance is a factor that will be considered when filling the vacancy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35,177.00 per year
