About The Position
Location: Whyalla
Status: Full Time

The Strengthening Separated Families program supports separated parents through broad-based counselling and support, educational sessions and workshops to focus on the needs of their children after separation.
The Family Educator will deliver short educational seminars, counselling and individual support as appropriate to each case. The service also provides wrap-around courses such as providing additional communication skills, improved self-esteem or address relationship issues.
The Strengthening Separated Families Program sits alongside the Children’s Contact Service and is a complimentary service to clients of the Children’s Contact Service.

Skills and Experiences:
You will:
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Have case management experience.
- Be confident to advocate for your clients’ needs.
- Be comfortable presenting information to groups.
- Have sound writing skills for tasks such as case noting, case planning, referrals etc.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Certificate lV (or above) in a Human Services related discipline e.g. Community Services, Case Management, Disability, Mental Health, Youth Work, etc.
- Relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity.
You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
