Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Farm Labourer to support daily operations at our agricultural farm's hay company. This role will consist of general equipment maintenance, equipment operation, manual labour and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to perform various tasks essential to successful management. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in horticulture, machinery operation, and farm maintenance within a dynamic agricultural environment.

Duties

• Assist with company hay deliveries throughout the Lower Mainland
• Operate farm machinery such as tractors, tillers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform routine maintenance on tools, and machinery to ensure optimal operation
• Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, adjustments, and general upkeep of farm infrastructure
• Conduct basic math calculations, ensure accurate counts of customer products, delivery space and schedules
• Assist with heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency

Requirements

• Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture or farm maintenance is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and power tools is advantageous
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
• Candidates with class 5 driver's license preferred
• Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to farming tasks
• Willingness to perform manual labor in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently during all operations
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
• Must be able to speak English fluently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85-$25.00 per hour
