The Role
Farmer Group’s Farm Machine Operator/Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and timely cultivation operations. This position is responsible for all aspects of farm machine maintenance and repair, as well as operating farm machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and document regular maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and vehicles
• All aspects of tractor field work, including but not limited to plowing, cultivating, harrowing, and seeding.
• Use spreadsheets to document plantings, maintenance, and scheduling.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work space.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and repair all farm equipment.
• Help farm crew with any necessary farm tasks that require machine skills.
• Work with the Director of Cultivation on ordering and keeping up necessary supplies.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, carry, bend, twist, and place 40-50 lbs repetitively
• Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on farm machinery
• Must be able to work independently, as well as with others in a coordinated effort to get tasks done.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for an 8-hour work day
• Must be comfortable with spreadsheets and data capture
• Must be detail oriented
• Quick learner
• Willingness to stay until the job is done
• Experience with pallet jacks, forklifts, and driving trucks
• Knowledge of crop growing preferred
• Active listening
• Critical thinking
• Time management
• Self-motivated
• Excellent communication skills
• Must have reliable transportation
• HS Diploma or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of farm machinery/mechanical equipment
• Farming experience preferred
