Our team collaborates closely with clients to deliver accurate data capture, seamless integration, and dependable project support across all stages of construction and operations.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Data Technician to join our team. Although this role involves using digital tools, it's focused on supporting crews in the field—not working behind a desk. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys being outdoors, has experience on construction or pipeline projects, and feels comfortable working hands-on with both people and technology..
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and operate Petro IT’s proprietary field software (e.g., Pipetrak IT).
- Support the implementation and rollout of Petro IT’s Pipetrak IT solution at project sites.
- Train client field teams on software usage and workflows. This training will be more hands-on training in the field.
- Provide in-field and remote support to users during data collection and reporting.
- Perform data quality checks and resolve inaccuracies or incomplete entries.
- Apply barcode labels and manage the barcoding system for material and construction traceability (depending on the requirement of the project, not always required).
- Coordinate with multiple client stakeholders (construction, QA/QC, survey, etc.) to ensure smooth data flow.
- Assist project teams in generating reports, tracking progress, and delivering updates to clients.
- Participate in review meetings and communicate project status clearly and effectively.
- Maintain digital documentation and assist in document control processes.
- Conduct equipment setup (iPad) and ensure operational readiness at job sites.
- Work in varied physical conditions, including walking, standing, bending, and climbing in outdoor environments.
- Verify project documentation and ensure the completeness of documents as per project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience working on pipeline or facility construction projects, preferably in the field.
- Strong understanding of construction, inspection, and survey documentation on the pipeline prejects.
- Previous experience working with Survey companies (Pipeline survey).
- Previous experience working on Traceability Software will be a plus.
- Technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and support specialized software tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote client locations and stay for extended durations when needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with barcode-based tracking systems or inspection management software.
- Understanding of quality control, material traceability, and compliance workflows.
- Valid driver’s license and passport (required for project travel).
