Role Overview
The Field Mobile Technician will provide high-quality on-site service, maintenance, and repair support for Higer vehicles (diesel and electric models) across Ireland. Working as part of the Higer Aftersales team, this role ensures customers receive timely, efficient, and professional technical support, maintaining Harris Group’s reputation for excellence in vehicle performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Higer vehicles at customer sites and in the field.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and software.
- Support warranty assessments and ensure accurate completion of service documentation.
- Provide technical advice and training to customers on vehicle operation and maintenance.
- Maintain clear communication with the Aftersales and Technical Support teams.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in excellent condition.
- Participate in ongoing technical training, including EV and high-voltage systems.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Qualified HGV or Bus Technician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
- 3+ years’ experience in heavy vehicle service and repair, ideally in a field/mobile role.
- Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software and technical documentation.
- Full, clean driving licence (HGV licence an advantage).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Higer or other bus/coach brands.
- Knowledge of EV systems, CAN-bus diagnostics, and HV battery safety procedures.
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic platforms and digital service reporting.
