Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Specialised Equipment
Reports to: CruinnCal Specialised Equipment Service Manager
Qualifications / Experience
Full driving license essential.
Minimum Qualification - National Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Degree Preferred.
Minimum 2 year’s previous experience preferred. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities are to support customers by diagnosing faults, repairing, and servicing mechanical machinery while ensuring all work is completed in line with the CruinnCal quotation and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
To represent Cruinn Diagnostics positively by engaging with customers, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner while performing diagnosis, repair, and servicing of mechanical machinery to a high standard.
Duties
- Perform inspection, testing, and servicing of mechanical equipment and systems at customer sites.
- Carry out diagnostic checks and performance testing on mechanical components and associated equipment.
- Conduct servicing, calibration, and maintenance duties at customer locations in a professional and safe manor.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company quality procedures and relevant industry standards.
- Complete all service and repair tasks according to customer requirements and agreed service level agreements.
- Review customer requirements and equipment specifications prior to attending service or repair calls.
- Provide professional technical support and maintain a positive working relationship with customers.
- Complete all service documentation, reports, and job records accurately, including parts used and work performed.
- Ensure all tools, diagnostic equipment, and service instruments are maintained, functional, and certified for use where required.
- Evaluate test and diagnostic results to determine faults and ensure equipment meets operational specifications.
- Continuously develop knowledge of new service procedures, mechanical systems, and equipment technologies.
- Carry out installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment within the company’s service portfolio.
- Participate in stock checks and inventory management when required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new equipment, tools, and technologies supplied by the company.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Attend manufacturer or supplier training courses as required, including occasional international travel.
- Submit monthly expense reports and maintain accurate service records.
- Ensure company vehicle is serviced, maintained, and kept clean in accordance with company policies.
- Follow safe driving practices and comply with road safety regulations while travelling for work.
- Maintain accurate records of business mileage and submit reports to accounts as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support the service and repair operations.
