About the role

This position reports directly to the Field Services Manager and is based in the Lyon and surrounding areas.

Operating as a key member of Tritium European team, the Field Services Technician will be responsible for all post-sale technical field support. This role is solutions, integration and services oriented focusing on finding solutions for their customers, over their best customer experience on owning Tritium Power Solutions EV charging.

  • FST will be required to install, Maintain, and repair equipment
  • FST will also be required to attend customers to service and repair all of the above equipment and diagnose and fault find to resolve the reported issues.
  • At times FST will be required to interact with challenging customers and communicate effectively.
  • Working hours Monday-Friday 8.30am on site - 5.00pm off site, with over time when required, Participating on call Rota, FST available for out of hours emergency callouts including weekends.
  • Independent & responsible working and confident to seek help, support, and advice as necessary

This is a full-time position. A company van, over-time and benefits apply.

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with regional and global customer support centres and other FSTs to achieve optimal outcomes for Tritium and their customers.
  • Execute all field service activities (e.g. install, test, commission, diagnose, repair, support, etc) on Tritium systems according to Tritium Policies and Procedures
  • Liaise with all clients/suppliers in a professional and courteous manner with a view to improve Tritium reputation within the industry and increase business opportunities.
  • Work with subcontractors on site and remotely, by guiding and monitoring them throughout their interventions on Tritium products, representing Tritium Power Solutions in alignment with our company values. For time to time, you will be required to audit their services and reports to secure the upmost quality and accuracy of their services and reports.
  • Comply with all necessary safety procedures, as reflected in Tritium Policies and Procedures
  • Work within ISO9001 equivalent quality Standards, and any other local regulation or company regulation
  • Attend product training courses (in France and abroad) and work towards completion of Tritium Professional Certificate in order to build competence in providing technical assistance and support to our customers.
  • Escalate as appropriate, situations where customer satisfaction is compromised and to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Maintain good communications and team working with all Stakeholders.
  • Understand and comply with Tritium work instructions, quality policy and codes of conduct policies and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Ensure material parts are processed in accordance with Tritium policies.
  • Complete personal administration in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain all test equipment, tools and company property in good and working order
  • Identify any opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company processes.
  • Generate and submit timely high-quality reports and other technical documentation outputs from your work, on the field and outside the field, using the defined systems. In addition to specified reports, it is expected you provide product improvements where you see fit and feed-back customer input.
  • Be hands on and work in accordance with the defined SOPs
  • Work in accordance to the schedule provided to you in a weekly base
  • Travel to the Tritium sites as required
  • Performed integration, validation and verification testing, by collaborating with internal teams and vendors to integrate, debug, fix and improve products, documenting development phases and monitor systems.

About you

  • BTS (Brevet de technicien supérieur) in Électrotechnique or DUT (Diplôme universitaire de technologie) in Génie Électrique or equivalent electrical and electronic engineering qualifications.
  • Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle (CQP) Installateur d'Équipements Électriques et Électrotechniques or CQP Maintenance des Installations Électriques or similar recognized certifications related to electrical systems.
  • French/English (B2 level should be sufficient)
  • Knowledge of NF C 15-100, the French electrical installation standard.
  • A valid French driving license (Permis de Conduire) is required.
  • Proficiency in installation, servicing, and rectification of equipment in line with French standards and regulations.
  • Strong expertise in electronics design and a good grasp of processor-controlled devices.
  • Experience working with LV mains to 480VAC and DC systems up to 1000V, complying with French electrical standards.
  • Affinity working with PCBs/ESD sensitive equipment
  • High level ability to understand the environment at the site.
  • High level understanding of safety regulations and requirements (Sécurité au Travail).
  • Maintaining high levels of health & safety standards
  • Capable in diagnosing mechanical & electrical faults
  • Initiative, resourcefulness, a mature and positive attitude to work
  • Good communication skills within the team and customer environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt and a willingness to learn and undergo training
  • Working indoors or outdoors at customer premises
  • To be presentable, polite, and courteous, addressing customers in a professional and friendly manner and with empathy
  • The job is physically demanding and involves regular lifting of heavy objects and involves regular bending and kneeling
  • Excellent time management skills, especially while on site.
  • Excellent local and remote diagnosing, problem definition, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal, using local and remote desktop applications and help desk software as needed.
  • Flexibility for travelling within Europe as required to provide on-site installation coordination, test & commissioning’s and technical support, with short reaction time

Nice to have

  • Understanding of OCPP protocol, programming, integration and debugging
