About the role:

Curtin University has an exciting opportunity for a Fieldwork Systems Officer to join the team in a full-time (1.0 FTE), permanent position. The role focuses on streamlining and developing our processes while supporting the operational management of direct and indirect fieldwork-related systems. In this rewarding position, you will collaborate with other fieldwork officers to promote process improvement within the faculty.

As the Fieldwork Systems Officer, your responsibilities will include the operational management and support of fieldwork-related systems. You will work closely with the Fieldwork Manager and relevant staff to assess their business needs and facilitate improved business processes. This position requires maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and business owners, as well as developing a deep understanding of system functionalities to ensure the efficient use of fieldwork systems.

You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Provide face-to-face training and support for users of fieldwork systems.
  • Develop guidelines for access to these systems for students and staff.
  • Ensure consistent software use within the faculty, aligned with best practices.
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to understand business processes and user requirements.
  • Advise on integrating fieldwork systems with corporate systems for efficient processes.
  • Analyse data from SONIA and other systems for reporting needs.
Selection Criteria
Who we are looking for:
  • Relevant degree and work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyse processes, practices and procedures to support improved business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to offer solutions to problems.
  • Experience with databases and software packages, including review of functionality and issue resolution.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people in a clear and professional manner, with cross cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training to individuals and groups.
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a placement support role within the higher education sector.
  • A general understanding of fieldwork placement practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of corporate software systems such as Student One and SONIA.
Role Requirements:
  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
