Film And Video Editor

Zyon Films is looking for an experienced Film and Video Editor for an immediate start.

This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Botany, NSW.

The Film and Video Editor will be responsible for the following main duties:

• Reviewing scripts, storyboards, and production concepts to understand the project’s theme, setting, and overall creative direction.
• Coordinating with the design team to assess filming locations and identify any staging requirements for effective production.
• Managing the creative aspects of the video production process, including selecting the right shots and framing to achieve the desired outcome.
• Determining technical settings such as lighting, camera angles, depth of field, and focus to capture the required visual effects.
• Reviewing and selecting scenes to build the story’s flow, maintaining continuity, and ensuring the pacing aligns with the production's narrative.
• Implementing editorial decisions during the editing process to create the intended mood, rhythm, and impact of the final product.
• Collaborating closely with directors, producers, and sound engineers to align the visual editing with the overall production goals.
• Organising the pre-production process, ensuring all necessary materials, props, and technical requirements are ready on set.
• Overseeing the arrangement of scenery, props, lighting, and sound equipment, ensuring that all components align with the visual style.
• Utilising video editing software to cut, refine, and polish footage, integrating sound, visuals, and special effects to complete the final product.
• Writing, editing, and finalising scripts as needed, and producing edited video content for a variety of media platforms and programmes.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• A relevant qualification, such as a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Film Production, Media, or related fields

• At least 2 years of full-time work experience in video editing or a related role
