The Labrador Friendship Centre is currently accepting applications for the position of Finance Assistant.

Position: Finance Assistant (Accounts Payable)

Reports To: Finance Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Administer payroll
  • Oversee accounts
  • Input invoices
  • Reconcile credit card accounts, monthly
  • Issue payments to vendors in timeline set by Finance Manager
  • Submit government payments as per deadlines (i.e.: HST, payroll, etc.)
  • Ensure all finance accounts are up to date
  • Ensure all deposits are accurate and input into accounting software
  • Assist in maintaining payroll records including leave summaries
  • Maintain a precise filing system
  • Adhere to deadlines
  • Assist in preparations for the annual audit
  • Prepare T4s and T4 summaries, as required
  • Prepare records of employment, as required
  • Assist with financial reports, as required
  • Other related duties, as required

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of post secondary education in the accounting field with a minimum of two years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50, Excel and MS Office software
  • Good organizational and administrative skills
  • Class 5 drivers’ licence and own transportation
  • Successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct
  • Employee must be bondable

Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants

Salary:

  • $ 26.00 per hour plus benefits

Hours:

  • 35 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
