Swaay Technologies is an Irish-headquartered industrial technology company focused on equipping the beverage can market with sustainable, flexible and efficient digital printing solutions.

We are on a scale-up journey, with teams currently based in Ireland, the UK and Canada. Over the coming years, Swaay plans to deploy additional production capacity across international markets and grow its management and shared-services team in Mullingar.

This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and contribute to the development of the finance function within a growing international business. The role will begin with hands-on bookkeeping and finance administration, but it has the potential to expand materially as Swaay grows and the successful candidate develops.

The Opportunity

Swaay Technologies is recruiting a Finance Associate to join its Mullingar head office.

The candidate will work directly with the CEO / CFO and the CCO and future members to the Mullingar team. They will have the opportunity to become involved at an early stage of the organisation and, over time, take increasing ownership of day-to-day finance processes across the Irish parent company and its international operations.

The role will include:

• Processing supplier invoices, customer invoices, credit notes, expenses and company card transactions
• Maintaining accurate purchase, sales and nominal ledgers across relevant group entities
• Completing bank, supplier, customer, card and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting accounts receivable, payment runs, debtor follow-up and short-term cash reporting
• Preparing month-end schedules and supporting the monthly close process
• Assisting with VAT, GST and other routine compliance information for review by management and external advisers
• Helping produce Cell, project and departmental reporting as the business develops
• Maintaining clear supporting records for capital expenditure, grants, investor reporting and audit requirements
• Working with colleagues in Ireland, Canada and the UK to keep finance information complete and current
• Helping implement and improve finance software automation systems
• Documenting finance processes and strengthening controls as the organisation scales

Candiate Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a recent graduate or early-career finance professional with approximately 0 to 3 years' relevant experience
• Have a business, finance, accounting or Accounting Technician qualification, or equivalent practical experience
• Have a sound grasp of basic accounting principles and be comfortable learning through hands-on work
• Be proficient in Excel and confident learning new systems; experience with Sage 50, AccountsIQ, AutoEntry or other similar platforms is helpful but not essential
• Be accurate, organised and methodical, with a strong sense of ownership over deadlines and follow-up
• Be comfortable carrying out routine processing while also looking for better ways to organise and automate work
• Communicate confidently with colleagues, customers, suppliers and professional advisers across different locations
• Be curious about the wider business and interested in understanding how Swaay's production Cells operate
• Be trustworthy, reliable, self-directed and willing to ask questions when something does not look right
• Have the ambition and capability to grow toward management accounts and greater finance responsibility

Career Development

This role is designed for someone who wants their responsibilities to grow with the company.

During the first year, the priority will be to establish dependable day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and month-end support. As the successful candidate’s experience develops, the role may expand into cash-flow reporting, management accounts, budgeting, Cell and project reporting, intercompany accounting and support for group consolidation.

An excellent performer will have the opportunity to progress within Swaay. For the right candidate, Swaay is also open to supporting the pursuit of a relevant professional accounting qualification.

• A six-month probationary period will apply. Performance, responsibilities and development will be reviewed regularly, with a formal review annually.

Pay: €29,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
