ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time (22.5 Hours per week) Accounts Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role offers flexibility with working hours and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, supportive team.

As a Part-Time Accounts Officer, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the finance department, helping with tasks ranging from accounts payable/receivable to preparing financial reports. This is an ideal position for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Ensure financial data is up-to-date and organized.
  • Process Accounts Payable and Receivable Transactions: Efficiently handle all transactions to ensure timely processing.
  • Prepare and Submit Claims/Invoices: Use debtor-managed portals to prepare and submit invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
  • Reconcile Bank Statements and Ledgers: Perform regular reconciliations to ensure financial records match bank statements.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Assist in compiling and submitting regular financial reports for review.
  • Support Budget Preparation: Assist in financial planning and budgeting activities.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to accounting policies and regulations to maintain compliance.
  • Provide Administrative and Accounting Support: Offer assistance to the finance team with additional administrative tasks as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Officer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
