Job Summary:
The Finance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, managing financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and audit processes. This role supervises finance staff and ensures compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations. This role collaborates with other departments to maintain the integrity of financial data and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Review and analyze financial reports, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to finance staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial issues and provide financial insights.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Support the Finance Manager/Director in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Communicate regularly with General Manager
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with SAP Required
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with standard working hours.
- Occasional overtime during reporting periods.
Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her department and supporting Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and communication.
