This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your role
Assist in managing financial resources for French Services’ Regional division. Ensure the implementation of all business tools enabling departments to plan and manage their resource envelope effectively. Work with the Controller to provide administrative and financial support to French Services station managers for Quebec’s regions. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data between the various systems required for the department’s financial management.
The person will be able to work from our offices in Montreal, Québec or Ottawa.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare management reports to assess the budget performance of the relevant departments.
  • Authorize credit transfers and ensure they are properly charged.
  • Ensure that reports, tables, graphics, and statistics are prepared, and comment on results.
  • Conduct the required research and analyses.
  • Assist in developing and preparing monthly and yearly budget forecasts.
  • Coordinate and monitor the application of mechanisms required for budget preparation.
  • Assist in auditing, recording and reconciling the revised annual budget for the relevant departments.
  • Interpret and enforce policies, standards, methods and recognized accounting practices.
  • Support planning of the department’s year-end activities and keep in constant touch with managers to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Verify departmental forecasts. Ensure that operations run smoothly, and that all items are properly recorded so that expenditures on the books accurately reflect reality.
  • Prepare accounting entries for approval.
  • Participate in the development and automation of certain reports to support the teams, and provide the technical know-how to ensure their completion.
  • Print out and distribute all financial reports.
  • Establish and maintain document filing and computer systems for administrative and financial matters.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • University degree in accounting or the equivalent
  • Two or more years’ relevant experience
  • High level of computer proficiency, and high knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel), and Google Suite (Google Sheets)
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP BW
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience at dealing with clients/users at all level – individually and in groups
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the Corporation
  • Ability to work independently, but equally well in a team environment
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and think critically in the development of solutions
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards
  • Initiative to explore new techniques and new ideas to satisfy internal client requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical writing skills and change management skills
