Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in Ireland. Since our foundation in 1973 we have provided over 5,700 homes through homeownership, shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners, tenants and developers. We currently manage over 6,708 properties across Ireland.
Role Overview
The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Officer role is a new and exciting role at CHI. In this role, you will provide support across CHI’s financial planning and analysis function as we continue to grow the delivery of co-operative housing in Ireland. Working with an experienced Financial Planning Manager, you will find opportunities to apply your financial expertise to the delivery and management of housing, and you will contribute to varied and exciting goals.
The areas covered by this role include: investment appraisals, oversight of organisation performance, long-term financial planning, cost-analysis reporting, financial-modelling, regulatory compliance support, and the use of data to aid and drive decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Production of periodic short, medium, and long-term financial planning forecasts, including associated analysis and scenario-testing under the direction of the Financial Planning Manager
- Contributing to written reports under the supervision of the manager and with the support of the manager.
- Financial review and performance-reviews of investments in homes, under the direction of the Financial Planning Manager
- Maintenance of financial investment appraisal models and other models, including the delivery of model changes and related reporting enhancements under the direction of the Financial Planning Manager
- Assisting with budgeting, budgetary process, cost analysis, and value-for-money assessments in financial planning
- Adherence to AHBRA financial standards and compliance requirements
Projects
- Provide essential financial support under the direction of the Financial Planning Manager for ongoing and new projects - strategic and operational - acting as a key financial planning support resource for all active projects and new initiatives undertaken in conjunction with Financial Planning.
Other
- Developing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in financial planning, including intelligent lean model-design and growing the effectiveness of financial planning
- Contributing to the development and implementation of new financial management systems
- Assisting the manager in building and strengthening information flow between financial controllership (core finance) and the financial planning & analysis (FP&A) function, contributing to strengthening finance-team integration and performance
Essential Criteria
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis functions, including a record of working with long-term financial forecasts, investment appraisals, large datasets, financial modelling, Advanced Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and/or appropriate financial planning tools.
- Experience working in a team environment, wider finance teams, and in cross-functional teams
- A track-record of timely completion of tasks and core deliverables
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to report complex financial insights in clear accessible language
- An analytical mindset, curiosity, and a motivation to work in co-operative housing
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with MRI Brixx or relevant financial planning software
