Job Description & Summary

A career in our Financial Services Management Consulting practice will empower you to work with the world’s leading banks and asset managers to solve their most important problems or help them capture great new opportunities. You will work with industry experts and business leaders on a broad range of topics from strategy to operations and help our clients to create sustainable change by stimulating innovation, unlocking data possibilities, navigating risks and regulatory complexity, optimising deals, and aligning costs with business strategies to create a competitive advantage.

Our team specialises in the banking- and asset- & wealth management industries with a specific focus on clients’ strategy, operations, processes, and systems. We provide “360-degree-solutions”, well-tailored to the individual client’s needs, supporting them throughout their entire projects, from kick-off over design- and build phases to the implementation – incl. project- and change management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping our clients to understand their competitive environment and refining their strategic positioning (strategy definition);

  • Supporting market studies and benchmarking exercises;

  • Supporting our clients in the development of innovative new products or services;

  • Identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our clients' organisations and processes and developing solutions for optimisation;

  • As-is analyses and identification of gaps (to achieve a desired solution);

  • Target operating model design and -implementation;

  • Supporting our clients to become more sustainable – both from an ESG- and a business perspective;

  • Contributing to proposals (project acquisition) and business development activities (service presentations, research, internal discussion papers);

  • Building trustful relationships and expanding your network within the firm, the PwC network as well as with our clients.

Our expectations

  • You deliver the highest quality – on internal assignments and especially for our clients;

  • You make an effort to understand not only project-related but also general business needs and requirements of clients;

  • You are able to work autonomously and to drive individual topics by yourself – of course with the chance to regularly discuss interim results and next steps with the team;

  • You are very proactive; you do not hesitate to take the initiative on new topics and to make proposals for new approaches, solutions or services;

  • You are ambitious and hard-working; you always strive to deliver the best possible results;

  • You display strictly professional behaviour and appearance at all times;

  • You are open-minded and interested to regularly engage on professional development and learning;

  • You speak up for what is right and defend your opinion; you constantly challenge existing approaches, ways of working and results while making constructive proposals for improvements.

Your profile

  • You hold a degree from university, college, a university of applied sciences or a business school;

  • Relevant experience in consulting or in the financial sector via previous work engagements or internships is clearly a benefit but not essential;

  • You have a good understanding of the financial services industry, financial markets, and the underlying business concepts in banking as well as asset- and wealth management – or are confident that you can develop this knowledge very quickly;

  • You demonstrate very strong analytical skills, problem-solving capability, and critical scrutiny;

  • You are very well organised and highly structured and able to manage priorities and deadlines; you can anticipate challenges and potential issues and communicate those in a solution-oriented manner;

  • You are a very fast learner with the ability to understand even complex matters in a short time; you approach any new topic with curiosity and motivation;

  • You showcase a creative mindset in our daily business but especially when facing issues;

  • You are a strong team player and always seek to integrate a diverse range of perspectives, people and ideas into your work;

  • You possess advanced knowledge and skills in common MS-Office tools; any additional capabilities (VBA, PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.) will be beneficial;

  • You have very strong communication skills – being fluent at least in English (written and spoken); any additional language is an asset.
