Fire Systems Commissioning Engineer

G4S Fire & Security Systems are currently seeking an experienced Fire Systems Commissioning Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. Based out of Leinster with Region wide travel required at times. Immediate starts and a very competitive salary for the right candidate is on offer.

Purpose: Installation, commission, service and maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems.

Objectives:

• Commission fire detection, alarm and suppression systems to agreed customer specifications.
• Service and maintain fire detection, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting in accordance with agreed service and maintenance contracts as per IS 3218:2013+A1:2019, IS3217:2013:A1:2017.
• Support sales team and specify customer needs through provision of expert advice during on-site inspections.
• Promote G4S Brand.
• Respond to customer queries and resolve issues promptly and courteously.
• Respond to emergency activation and other attendances advised through service desk and on call services.
• Provide regular reports on activities that will enable management plan strategic and operational direction for the fire systems team.
• Correct use of P.D.A. and close jobs with any other information required to enable work be invoiced to customers promptly and allow certification to take place.
• Deputise for Manager in any matters as directed by Manager.
• Ensure that all G4S property, vehicles, stock, test equipment and tools are accounted for and kept in good working order.
• Attend product training when necessary and attain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all of G4S product range along with relevant industry standards.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

• Extensive knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
• Experience working with major fire alarm brands including air sampling systems
• Experience commissioning graphics systems
• Experience in standard & complex fire suppression systems
• Knowledge of Disabled refuge systems
• Knowledge of PA/VA systems
• A comprehensive knowledge of standards relevant to Fire industry
• Ability to manage large projects from design through to completion
• Proven experience of commissioning large projects with complex strategies
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Planning, reporting & organising skills are a key requisite for this role
• Problem solving ability
• Flexibility
• A team player who is customer focused while generating industry leading results
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Full clean driving licence essential
• Electrical background a distinct advantage
• 3+ years in a similar role required
