POSITION: First Deputy STATUS: Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Clerk’s Office FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: M-F, 35 hours SALARY: MAX $44,936

RESPONSIBILITY:

Directly supervise 8-12 employees. Planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

DUTIES:

Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of employees, ensuring they meet performance expectations, and maintaining efficient daily operations.

Collect monies ordered paid by courts.

Issue and record marriage licenses.

Record and maintain tax liens and judgements.

Answer telephone calls, take messages, and answer questions.

Assist the public, attorneys and courts.

Help employees with daily work as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and the public. Ability to interpret questions using problem solving techniques to get to the root problem.

Typing, basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment are required for the completion of the duties of this job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have 1-2 years related experience and/or training; Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
