PREMIER PROTECTIVE PACKAGING is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polyethylene (PE) Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials. Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging.

We are looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager, this position will troubleshoot, diagnose, update and repair all electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and electronic equipment. Will also be responsible for scheduling preventative and corrective maintenance of all manufacturing machinery, support equipment, building and facilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, repair or rebuild equipment

2. Design and build support equipment including layout, installation, set-up, and operation

3. Research new and maintain current vendor and contract services relationships

4. Purchase and maintain tools, parts and material inventories

5. Uphold OSHA and environmental compliance

6. Train other personnel in proper maintenance techniques

7. Participate in continuous improvement and safety teams

8. On call for minor repair consulting for all three shifts and call in for major problems

Job Qualifications:

1. The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or equivalent

2. Minimum of five years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent work experience

3. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and CAD drawings

4. Experience with PLC/Allen Bradley equipment

5. Valid Driver’s license

6. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members

7. Mental ability to periodically handle pressures related to working on projects requiring attention and detail

8. Must be able to independently resolve issues with a degree of creativity and latitude

9. Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

1. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions

2. Work includes periodic exposure to fumes, odors, dust, noise and moving objects

3. Work includes exposure to hazards associated with electrical and mechanical equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
