We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Fleet Mechanic to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, vehicles, and machinery. Your expertise will ensure our operations run smoothly and safely, supporting our commitment to excellence.   • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of fleet vehicles and heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, trailers, and horizontal directional drills
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Conduct repairs on diesel and gas engines, oil changes, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, shocks & struts, and other critical components
  • Repair frame and body
  • Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to maintain safety standards
  • Utilize power tools and hand tools efficiently for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and maintenance tasks
  • Maintain detailed service records and follow safety protocols during all repair activities
  • Evaluate wear and tear to prevent breakdowns
  • Estimate cost of repairs and maintenance
  • Create repair and maintenance plans
  • Communicate with Division Manager(s)
  • Travel to make remote repairs
  • Maintain safety standards
  • Ensuring HAZMAT compliance
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Managing parts inventory
  • Maintaining tools

Requirements:

A successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, have consistent on-time performance, and the ability to follow instructions.

Basic Qualifications: Valid Driver’s License-Class A (CDL) with a clean driving record

  • Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
  • Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
  • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

  • This role necessitates that the candidate engage in communication regarding safety on the job site with both an entry-level mechanic and the division director. Do you speak English?

  • automotive mechanic: 5 years (Preferred)
