Introduction:
Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) brings together the skills and experience of veterans and volunteers to help communities prepare for and recover from disaster. Operating nationally, DRA works in fast-moving, operationally complex environments where effective logistics, fleet readiness and deployable capability are critical to success.

We are seeking a Fleet Readiness & Logistics Project Support professional to implement, improve and embed DRA’s fleet processes, logistics systems and deployable container capability. This role plays a key part in strengthening organisational readiness by improving workflows, ensuring consistent documentation and supporting sustainable, nationally scalable systems.

This is a project-focused role working closely with the Associate Director of Logistics & Procurement, Field Operations and Disaster Relief & Recovery Teams (DRRTs).

This is a full‑time, fixed‑term position until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Description:
What you’ll do

  • Review existing fleet workflows and implement improvements that enhance readiness, safety, compliance and reporting
  • Coordinate national vehicle allocations and support consistent use of fleet systems across regions
  • Develop and maintain fleet documentation including SOPs, checklists, guides and handover materials
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready fleet records including servicing, incidents and compliance documentation
  • Monitor telematics alerts, vehicle incidents and servicing requirements, embedding clear response and escalation processes
  • Lead the implementation and systemisation of Deployable Containers capability to ensure it is scalable and sustainable
  • Produce structured handover documentation covering configuration, maintenance, risks and long-term sustainment
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and embed quality, repeatable delivery standards
  • Provide after-hours fleet support during operational deployments when required
Skills and Experiences:

  • Demonstrated experience in fleet coordination, logistics or vehicle operations
  • Strong process improvement and documentation capability
  • Confidence working with fleet systems, telematics and external service providers
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accurate, compliant record-keeping
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver across competing operational demands
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff, volunteers and vendors
  • Resilience and adaptability in dynamic, operational environments
