Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Float Driver, a vital role that keeps our transportation operations running smoothly and efficiently across multiple locations. As a Float Driver, you will be the versatile backbone of our fleet, stepping into various driving roles to ensure timely deliveries, pickups. Your expertise in commercial driving and vehicle operation will help us maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your driving skills across different vehicle types while supporting our diverse logistical needs.
Duties
- Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including flatbeds, floats, live bottom, end dumps to transport equipment safely and efficiently.
- Heavy haul floating large equipment
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
- Drive route-specific vehicles such as tractor-trailers to deliver freight on scheduled routes.
- Assist with moving tasks within warehouses or job sites by transporting materials using heavy equipment operation skills.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any operational concerns.
- Support other drivers by filling in for absences or covering additional routes as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Experience
- Proven commercial driving experience with a focus on route driving, or delivery driver roles involving various vehicle types such as flatbeds, or tractor-trailers.
- Mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles including basic troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation, pallet jacks, or heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse environments, freight handling, and moving materials efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with team members and clients.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for tractor-trailers), with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and adhere to safety standards for heavy haul and heavy equipment operation. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
