Overview
We are seeking a skilled food industry related Equipment Service Technician to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining and repairing commercial equipment used within the food industry, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, familiarity with food safety protocols, and experience working in manufacturing or food processing environments. This position offers an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, supporting the efficiency and safety of food service operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of equipment including ovens, fryers, dishwashers, dough mixtures refrigeration units, and packaging machinery
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely when required for equipment movement or installation
• Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, and parts used
• Collaborate with the manufacturing or food processing team to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
• Follow all safety protocols related to food safety, sanitation, and equipment handling

Qualifications

• Prior experience in the food industry or manufacturing environment preferred
• Mechanical knowledge related to commercial kitchen equipment and machinery
• Familiarity with packaging processes and related machinery is a plus
• Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred)
• Basic math skills for measurements and troubleshooting calculations
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Basic understanding of food processing operations is advantageous
