Food Safety Coordinator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Food Safety Coordinator. This is a permanent, full-time position based in rural Plum Coulee, MB. The ideal candidate will take the lead in implementing and managing our food safety systems, helping ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Whether you're experienced in HACCP and GFSI frameworks or looking to develop expertise in this field, we welcome applicants with a passion for food safety and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided to the successful candidate if needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the company's food safety program
· Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification standards (e.g., HACCP, GFSI)
· Maintain detailed records and documentation to support audit readiness
· Conduct regular internal audits and inspections
· Coordinate food safety training for staff
· Assist with administrative tasks related to food safety and compliance
· Support traceability efforts and manage product lot tracking systems
· Participate in pest control, sanitation, and allergen management program oversight
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
· Experience or education in food safety systems is an asset (e.g., HACCP, GFSI)
· Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
· Willingness to be hands-on and present on the production floor when necessary
Assets (Preferred but Not Required):
· HACCP certification
· Knowledge of allergen control, sanitation protocols, and pest management practices
· Familiarity with SFCR regulations
· Internal Auditor Training or experience with GFSI audit processes
· WHMIS or similar workplace safety training
