Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials within our warehouse. Your expertise will ensure efficient warehouse distribution, accurate order picking, and smooth shipping and receiving processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where safety and precision are paramount. The candidate MUST have previous lumber experience to be considered for this role.

Duties

• Operate forklifts to load and unload materials
• Safely handle materials using appropriate equipment.
• Assist with warehouse management tasks including inventory organization, order picking, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system
• Perform routine equipment repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation
• Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, preparing orders for dispatch, and ensuring proper documentation
• Conduct safety inspections on equipment before use and follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
• Contribute to warehouse distribution efficiency by managing load & unload operations with precision

Experience

• Proven experience operating forklifts in the lumber industry in a warehouse environment
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
• Experience with order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling is highly desirable
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse operations
• Prior warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with warehouse management system software is a plus
• Basic math skills necessary for inventory counting and order accuracy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
