Foster Care Case Aide Part-Time

The Case Aide will provide direct service and case management to families in their homes as needed. Case Aide also provides transportation to children, youth, and families as assigned, coordinates visitation as assigned, and documents all transportation and visitation according to each program's standards.

The Case Aide will assist with services to families, assisting the foster care clients in achieving the goals identified in the ISP. The Case Aide may assist in completing the monthly assessments.

Job Status: Part-Time Non-Exempt

Primary Functions:

  • Provides support to assigned families.
  • Models child-rearing practices, behavior management techniques, and anger management.
  • Plans and coordinates program services and activities assigned to the family.
  • Responds to the crisis for assigned families as needed and helps to find innovative approaches to serve children, youth, and families
  • Maintains professionalism at all times when working with families, staff, and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrates strong mentoring skills for the individuals that they will be working with.
  • Conducts a monthly foster parent assessment.
  • Must be a dynamic role model.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attends court hearings as required
  • Attend internal and external training as required.
  • Attend program staff meetings and meet with supervisory staff and other agency personnel as assigned.
  • Participate in monthly file reviews
  • Responsible for carrying a cell phone at all times and returning calls within fifteen minutes.
  • Responsible for the weekly submission of paperwork.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, and walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Proper diction and command of the English language are required. Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.

This position requires a High School Diploma (or GED) and 1-3 years' experience working with children, youth, or families. Experience with acutely emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred—excellent written and oral communication skills. Cultural competence is required. Must be 21 years of age or older and required to apply for Act 33/34 clearances as well as FBI clearance. Have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation. A very flexible schedule and pre-employment drug screening are required. Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
