Role Description
Horsepower Today is seeking a Fractional Financial Controller to partner with one of our growing clients. This fractional role will oversee core accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and provide strategic financial guidance to support long-term growth. Qualified candidates must have experience in the medical field, with specific skills related to medical billing, working with insurance contracts, and an overall understanding of collections process.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure accurate, timely financial records.
• Prepare budgets, forecast revenue and expenses, and monitor cash flow to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and internal controls.
• Analyze financial performance, identify opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability, and present clear recommendations.
• Partner with leadership to align financial strategy with the organization’s long-term vision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including leadership over financial operations.
• Strong understanding and experience with financial statements, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
• Proven, hands-on experience managing financial operations and leading finance or accounting teams.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to generate actionable insights from data.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in the medical field, including medical billing, working with insurance contracts, and collections processes.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
