This role is based in Luxembourg, where - along with all the key people - as an active member of Satispay, you will be a core member of the Fraud Prevention Team, helping fuel the growth of the Satispay Group.
Your mission:
Analyze transactions to identify fraud weaknesses and propose improvements. Investigate and analyze transactions flagged by our hybrid KYT system, identifying weaknesses, attack patterns, and proposing tactical improvements to better detect and prevent fraud.
Enhance KYT alerts with refined logic and new risk signals. Continuously enhance the KYT alerting system by suggesting refinements to detection logic, integrating new risk signals, and identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Uncover hidden fraud schemes. Conduct deep dives into accounts and transaction behaviors to uncover hidden fraud schemes and enhance detection models.
Hunt for new fraud patterns through data analysis. Proactively look for new fraud patterns by analyzing transaction data, behavioral anomalies and unusual customer activity across the platform.
Collaborate to improve fraud detection systems using advanced tools. Liaise with Product, Data Analytics, and Engineering to design and improve fraud detection and prevention systems, using tools including machine learning, anomaly detection, and behavioral biometrics.
Contribute to ML model optimization for fraud detection. Support with developing and optimizing machine learning models for fraud detection, working closely with Data Science teams by suggesting new features, labels, and attack simulations.
Proactively assess fraud risks for new initiatives as a threat hunter. Act as an internal fraud “threat hunter,” proactively assessing fraud risks for new products, payment flows, or technical changes before they go live.
Your ideal profile:
Attacker mindset. You think like an attacker but act as a defender, proactively identifying weaknesses and strengthening defenses against sophisticated fraud attempts.
A strong appetite for continuous learning. You’re always curious about new fraud techniques, cyberattack methods, and technological trends impacting financial crime risk.
A strong analytical mindset. Proven ability to work with large datasets, spot hidden patterns, challenge assumptions, and translate findings into actionable improvements.
Previous relevant experience. You’re experienced in fraud prevention, fraud operations, cybersecurity, or highly analytical roles. We welcome applications from individuals with a strong academic or professional background in a technical field (such as data science, computer science, or a related area) who demonstrate a keen interest in applying their skills to the challenges of fraud prevention.
Basic proficiency in SQL. Used for querying and analyzing large sets of transaction and behavioral data.
Language proficiency. Fluent written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly structure and communicate complex fraud cases and technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Knowledge of Italian or other European languages is considered a plus.
A proactive thinker. You like to 'think outside the box' to challenge existing norms, simplify solutions, and contribute to raising the bar in our fraud prevention strategies through innovative technological applications.
Results-oriented and passionate about your work. You bring an entrepreneurial spirit and a focus on delivering solutions that ultimately put our users first, aligning your efforts with Satispay's mission and collective goals.
Collaborative and highly organized. You bring the ability to structure your work effectively both, independently and collaboratively, ensuring clear communication within the team and efficient use of resources.
A very quick learner. You can dive deep into new topics and adapt rapidly to evolving technologies and fraud trends, with a mindset to challenge complexities and simplify processes.
Enthusiastic about embracing new challenges. You see yourself working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced international environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to taking action and going the extra mile to achieve results.
Don't let a checklist hold you back - at Satispay, we thrive on diverse perspectives and unique strengths. Your individuality could be the missing piece to our puzzle!
